LITURGY
Palmer Catholic Academy students celebrate weekly Mass. Students help prepare the liturgy, participate actively in the celebration by being lectors, cantors, singing in the Senior or Junior Choirs, bringing up the gifts, ushering and altar serving.
ADORATION
Palmer Catholic Academy students participate in weekly Adoration in our school chapel. Adoration is a form of worship in which we show deep love and respect for God, especially in the presence of the Eucharist, which is the body of Christ. During adoration, people spend time in prayer, reflection, and silence, recognizing the sacredness of Jesus in the Eucharist.
PENITENTIAL
Palmer Catholic Academy students participate in Advent and Lenten Penitential at the school campus. They also have the opportunity to go to Reconciliation monthly.
CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING
Palmer Catholic Academy students learn about Catholic Social Teaching because it helps us understand how to treat other people and make the world a better place. It teaches us to love and care for everyone, especially those who are poor or in need. It shows us how to be fair and kind, and how to work together to help each other.
SERVICE
Palmer Catholic Academy students are expected to participate in service projects throughout the year. We participate in service projects at school because it helps us help others and make our community a better place. When we do service, we show love and kindness to people who might need a little extra help. It’s a way to share what we have and to work together as a team.
Doing service projects also helps us learn important lessons about caring for others and being responsible. It makes us feel good inside when we help someone, and it helps us understand how we can make a difference in the world. All middle school students are required to log service hours and have service hour requirements for Graduation and Confirmation. For more information please see the Parent/Student Handbook.
SACRAMENTS - Students prepare for the following sacraments at Palmer Catholic Academy:
FIRST RECONCILIATION -The sacrament of reconciliation is an experience of the gift of God’s boundless mercy that frees us from our sins and also challenges us to have the same kind of compassion and forgiveness for those who sin against us. In the Catechism of the Catholic Church and in the Rite of Penance we read that the sacrament is a liturgical action. It is the Church’s opportunity to celebrate the presence of God in those areas of our lives needing conversion and forgiveness. First Reconciliation is celebrated in the second grade.

FIRST HOLY EUCHARIST - The Sacrament of Eucharist is a Sacrament of Initiation. Eucharist/Communion is when we receive the true presence; Body, Blood and Soul and Divinity of Jesus through the common substance of bread and wine that has been consecrated during Mass. Preparation and celebration of First Holy Communion takes place in second grade.

CONFIRMATION - The Sacrament of Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation and is closely connected to the sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist. It completes the sacrament of baptism, brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace and strengthens the gifts of the Holy Spirit received at baptism. The Sacrament of Confirmation also leads us to the Eucharist as the way to live out our lives as fully initiated Catholics. Confirmation is celebrated in the eighth grade.
