February through May
is time for the PCA Library's

Reading Olympics
Students in grades 3rd through 5th are invited to participate in Palmer's Reading Olympics challenge during the months of February to May. Participation is not required.  It is a voluntary program meant to be a fun reading incentive.

To participate, a student reads any book from his grade's Reading Olympics list, which will be provided in February 2011. Then the student  takes a 10-question quiz in the Library. A student may take the quiz before school, after school, or during their library class time.

After a student has passed three quizzes, the Library Ladies invite the student to a party. The parties are held after school and are tentatively set as:

      March: Donuts & Cocoa
      April: Fruit Smoothies & Popcorn
      May: Ice Cream Sundaes

Students may attend as few as one party or as many as all three. Some examples of how this works:
  • if a student passes 3 quizzes before April, he will be invited to the March party.
  • if a student passes only 1 quiz in March, 1 in April, and 1 in May (or any other combination of 3 quizzes prior to May14), he will be invited to the May party only.
If you have any questions, stop by the Library.

Congratulations!

Reading Olympian names will be posted here each month.
