Reading Olympics

Students in grades 3rd through 5th are invited to participate in Palmer's Reading Olympics challenge during the months of February to May. Participation is not required.  It is a voluntary program meant to be a fun reading incentive.

To participate, a student reads any book from his grade's Reading Olympics list (last year's list appears below). Then the student takes a 10-question quiz in the Library. A student may take the quiz before school, after school, or during their library class time.

After a student has passed three quizzes, the Library Ladies invite the student to a party. The parties are held after school and are tentatively set as:

      March: Cookies & Soda
      April: Pop & Popcorn
      May: Ice Cream Sundaes

Students may attend as few as one party or as many as all three. Some examples of how this works:
  • if a student passes 3 quizzes before March, he will be invited to the March party.
  • if a student passes only 1 quiz in March, 1 in April, and 1 in May (or any other combination of 3 quizzes prior to the May party), he will be invited to the May party only.
If you have any questions, stop by the Library.
